FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GENERAL QUESTIONS

What is GoGo?
It's a freaking good time.
GoGo is a one night party and exhibition that showcases photographs by emerging artists. Partygoers
vote for their top three photographs. The highest ranking are then purchased with proceeds from ticket
sales and offered as a collective gift to a museum.

Who is GoGo for?
GoGo is for emerging artists, young collectors, and art lovers. Our goal is to give artists an audience
through being accessioned into a museum collection and introducing their work to collectors as well
giving art lovers and collectors an opportunity to see new work.

How do I get involved as an artist?
Apply! Our annual Call for Entries is how GoGo determines what works will be exhibited at the party.
Currently GoGo is only accepting photographs and photo-based work. Gogo encourages all artists to
attend the party!

I am not an artist, how do I get involved?
Buy a Ticket to the party!!

What does the ticket do?
The combined ticket sales are the art purchasing power for GoGo. The more tickets purchased the more
art we can collectively buy!

What does the ticket do for me?
When you purchase a ticket you get three votes to place towards any of the photographs in the
exhibition. You also get access to an open bar, snacks, great music, free for all photobooth, AND you
become part of the year's GoGo collective.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CALL FOR ENTRIES

How do I submit work for Gift of Gift of?
Submit to the annual Call for Entries. There is an online form to fill out and you will need to send your

accepted electronically.

What type of work does Gift of Gift of accept?
Gift of Gift of is currently focusing on photography and photo-based work.

What makes me eligible to submit?
To submit work for consideration, it must be photographically based. You must NOT have work in a
major museum collection. The retail value of your work must be $300 USD or less.

My work is not in the museum GoGo is donating to, but it has been purchased or donated to another
museum, can I still apply?
No. Since GoGo’s mission is to support emerging artists, artists whose work is already in a collecting
institution are not eligible.

What if it is a different body of work?
No.

What is retail value?
The retail value is the price you sell the photograph for. The $300 USD value limit is for the print only. It
does not include the framing price.

My work is priced higher than $300, can I still apply?
Work that is valued higher than $300 USD will not be accepted. You are welcome to submit a
photograph that is sized to be priced under $300 USD. Since part of GoGo’s mission is to introduce
collectors to your work, they should be able to purchase your work for the same or similar pricing as you
have offered to GoGo.

I am not a photographer, can I still apply?
Yes, as long as the work you submit is photography or photographically based.

Is there a fee to apply?
NO.

Is there a minimum for the amount of images to submit?
One image is the minimum for submission. However, work is also considered based on your artist
statement and body of work. It is recommended that you submit more than one image.

Is there a maximum for the amount of images to submit?
Yes, you can submit up to 10 images for consideration.

What are print dimensions?
The dimensions GoGo asks for are the dimensions for the image, not the paper or frame. Dimensions
should be listed height x width.

What size photographs does GoGo accept?
GoGo will consider photographs measuring up to 30 x 40 inches.

I have a body of work that supports the image I want to submit, however I only want to submit one
image to be purchased, is that okay?
No. Work submitted to GoGo must be available for purchase. Supporting information can come from
your resume/bio and artist statement.

If selected, am I being asked to donate my work?
No. If your work is selected to be purchased (by number of votes) you will receive the full retail
value of your work as stated in your contract. After being purchased, GoGo will donate it to the
museum.

If I am selected, should I be ready to send my work ready to hang?
Yes, please. Due to GoGo’s limited budget, we ask that artists send accepted work ready to hang.

If I am selected, who pays for shipping?
Artists will pack, provide crates/packaging materials, as well as be responsible for the shipping/
transportation costs of selected work to GoGo for the Exhibition & Vote Party. If the work arrives in
damaged packaging and needs to be returned, the artist is responsible for reimbursing GoGo for new
packaging supplies.
